ACCOMMODATION:
The Roxburghe Hotel is the official Convention hotel. All presentations, exhibits, Gala Dinner, etc. take place in the Courtyard and George Suite areas on the ground floor.
The hotel is offering significantly reduced room rates for attendees and has extended that offer to cover days either side of the convention. (For more details see accommodation page).
Please remember: The discounted accommodation rates are only available before Tuesday May 18, 2010 or until our hotel allocation is full, whichever is first.
To book your accommodation, please make direct contact with the Roxburghe.
To make this easy and assure you get the best discounted delegate rate, we have a specific convention order form downloadable from the Register page of this website. You can e-mail or fax this form to the Roxburghe as you prefer.
If you prefer to book accommodation by telephone, call +44 844 879 9063. When booking by telephone, please ask for the special rate for Potato Convention delegates.
We strongly suggest that you should book your hotel and make your delegate registration at the same time, so the accommodation and registration lists match.
REGISTRATION & PAYMENT:
We ask all delegates to complete a registration form. This form can be completed and e-mailed back to us or downloaded and faxed, as you prefer.
When registering, please include all details as this information will be used for all administrative purposes, including badging and the list of attendees. If you have another name or nickname you would prefer on your delegate badge, please indicate.
For payment, we can offer you two options. The first is by card. We can accept payment via Mastercard, Visa, Amex or Diners. Your card issuers conversion to your currency may create small discrepancies. We will confirm all transactions.
Alternatively, we can pro-forma invoice you for payment by bank transfer or cheque (payments must be completed by the appropriate date if making discounted Early Bird registrations). For this payment method, simply tick the Invoice me box on the registration form and we will electronically send you an invoice.

TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS:
Technical Workshop presentations will be presented by commercial partners, so offering an opportunity for attendees to also catch up on the latest developments and offerings from equipment and services companies.
Technical Workshops will be available as optional extras during some breaks, with only one Workshop per break.
THE EXHIBITION:
We will provide attendees with a small accompanying exhibition that may change daily. It is in the exhibition area that morning 'welcome' coffee and complimentary continental breakfast, coffee breaks and end-of-day complimentary drinks will be provided.
It is the funding from these exhibitors that allows us to keep registration fees low, so please make the most of the opportunity to talk with them. It is an excellent opportunity for attendees to be face-to-face with some organisations that could offer possibilities for their future development.
The exhibition will be open every day from 08.00.
(Enquiries for exhibition or sponsorship participations to convention@crier.co.uk please).
DRESS CODE:
There is no dress code. Feel free to wear what you wish. For the Gala Dinner, we do suggest smart casual at least, elsewhere informal/casual clothing is fine. For outdoors, the weather in Edinburgh in late June should be very pleasant, but you can never be certain in Scotland!
PARKING:
The Roxburghe has a small car park that must be pre-booked. Prices are £19 per day, inclusive of taxes. The hotel also has validating arrangements with nearby parking sites.
LANGUAGE:
All presentations and administration will be in English.
THE ROXBURGHE HOTEL:
The Roxburghe Hotel is the Convention headquarters hotel and is offering attendees to the Convention not only very attractive accommodation rates, but they have also agreed to extend those rates before and after the convention, covering the 9 nights from Saturday June 18 to Sunday June 27 inclusive. That is an excellent offer!
For full details, please see the accommodation page.
GETTING THERE:
BY AIR: There are too many services to Edinburgh airport to mention.
From the airport, it is a 15-20 minute journey by taxi at a cost of around £15 (€ 17 / $24). Alternatively, Airlink 100 bus service is extremely efficient and departs from right outside the air terminal. With services at least every 10 minutes during most of the day, there are stops both before and after the Roxburghe Hotel, each just a few minutes walk away. The bus fare is just £3.50 (€ 3.90 / $5.60) and the journey is approximately 25 minutes. (Take a seat on the top deck and enjoy the view as Edinburgh City reveals itself).
BY TRAIN: The Roxburghe Hotel is roughly 7 minutes walk from both Edinburgh Waverley and Edinburgh Haymarket stations.
BY ROAD: We do warn all drivers that parking is expensive in the City centre area of Edinburgh. The Roxburghe Hotel has some parking at £19 per day and has a concession with nearby parking facilities to validate for the same rate. Please ask for details when making your hotel accommodation reservations.
