For the Industry:
FOR THE POTATO STORAGE INDUSTRY:
The worldwide potato storage industry continues to play an ever-increasing role in supplying processors, retail and foodservice markets and is a hugely important sector of the potato supply chain.
Maximising both storage life and product quality are more valid than ever and are the key factors to adding (or maintaining) value. The search for opportunities and answers for those keen to develop their business is a worldwide search, with ideas, products, services and concepts being traded between countries to enhance value - value that is demanded by volume users, such as retailers and processors.
Recently we have featured a Sprout Suppression Discussion Forum at the end of Day 1. This proved very popular and will remain, plus, we have added discussion forums to complete the programs on the other two days of this unique event.

FOR THE POTATO PROCESSING INDUSTRY:
The international potato processing industry has had mixed fortunes in recent years, depending on where you are. Certainly North America was hit by the effects of the recession, whilst Europe maintained good volumes. Elsewhere the picture was mixed with some countries being buoyant and developing, others having a difficult time.
Now, the signs are that in most areas of the world, the industry is repositioned and we look forward to a strong global industry again.
We see that levels of investment in new facilities and new technologies are again high and seem to be increasing even more. Industry analysts expect the current level of business will improve even more as the industry continues to boost quality and volume of production and new product development.
The programmes of presentations will focus on core aspects affecting the industry of today, plus examine in greater detail the possibilities of implementation and usage of modern developments and technologies and their applications for enhancing existing production and the development of processing opportunities.
